POWER and AUTHORITY

power from on high

Luk 1:17      And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of EliYah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for YHWH.

We are talking here about Yochanan the immerse. Here is where Yochanan would be born with the Ruach.

Luk 1:35  And the messenger answering, said to her, “The Set-apart Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow you. And for that reason the Set-apart One born of you shall be called: Son of Elohim.

Here is where the messenger spoke to Mary and told her about the Messiah

(Luk 4:1)  And Yahushua being full of the Holy Spirit returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

(Luk 4:2)  Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

(Luk 4:3)  And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of Elohim, command this stone that it be made bread.

(Luk 4:4)  And Yahushua answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of YHWH.

(Luk 4:5)  And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

(Luk 4:6)  And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

(Luk 4:7)  If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

(Luk 4:8)  And Yahushua answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship YHWH thy Elohim, and him only shalt thou serve.

(Luk 4:9)  And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of Elohim, cast thyself down from hence:

(Luk 4:10)  For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:

(Luk 4:11)  And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

(Luk 4:12)  And Yahushua answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt YHWH thy Elohim.

(Luk 4:13)  And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.

(Luk 4:14)  And Yahushua returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.

Why is it that satan has all this power?

(Isa 14:12)  How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

(Isa 14:13)  For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of El: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

(Isa 14:14)  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

(Isa 14:15)  Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

(Isa 14:16)  They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

Luk 4:36  And astonishment came on all, and they spoke to each other, saying, “What is this word, that with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out?”

Luk 5:17  And on a certain day it came to be, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the Torah sitting by, who had come out of every village of Galil, Yehuḏah, and Yerushalayim. And the power of יהוה was there to heal them.

Luk 6:19  And all the crowd were seeking to touch Him, for power went out from Him, and healing them all.

Luk 8:46  But יהושע said, “Somebody did touch Me, for I knew power went out from Me.”

Luk 9:1  And having called His twelve taught ones together, He gave them power and authority over all demons, and to heal diseases.

Mat 10:1      And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

Luk 10:19  “See, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and none at all shall hurt you.

Luk 24:49  “And see, I am sending the Promise of My Father upon you, but you are to remain in the city of Yerushalayim until you are clothed with power from on high.”

Joh 1:12      But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of YHWH, even to them that believe on his name:

Joh 10:18      No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

Act 1:8  “But you shall receive power when the Set-apart Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Yerushalayim, and in all Yehuḏah and Shomeron, and to the end of the earth.”

Act 3:12  And seeing it, Kĕpha responded to the people, “Men of Yisra’ĕl, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or reverence we have made him walk?

Act 4:33  And with great power the emissaries gave witness to the resurrection of the Master יהושע, and great favour was upon them all.

Act 6:8  And Stephanos, filled with belief and power, did great wonders and signs among the people.

Act 10:38  how Elohim did anoint יהושע of Natsareth with the Set-apart Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for Elohim was with Him.

Now Shaul said something that is curious.

1Co 1:18  For the word of the stake is indeed foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of Elohim.

1Co 1:24  but to those who are called – both Yehuḏim and Greeks – Messiah the power of Elohim and the wisdom of Elohim.

1Co 2:4  And my word and my preaching were not with persuasive words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

1Co 14:11  If then I do not know the power of the voice, I shall be a foreigner to him who speaks, and he who speaks be a foreigner to me.

2Co 6:7  in the word of truth, in the power of Elohim, through the weapons of righteousness, on the right and on the left,

2Co 12:9  And He said to me, “My favour is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, then, I shall rather boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Messiah rests on me.

2Co 13:4  For though He was impaled in weakness, yet He lives by the power of Elohim. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of Elohim toward you.

Eph 3:20  And to Him who is able to do exceedingly above what we ask or think, according to the power that is working in us,

Whoa,……what is being said here….is this power conditional?

Eph 6:11  Put on the complete armour of Elohim, for you to have power to stand against the schemes of the devil.

Now we seem to be getting specific…is Shaul saying that there is something we need to put on to have this power?????

Eph 6:13  Because of this, take up the complete armour of Elohim, so that you have power to withstand in the wicked day, and having done all, to stand.

Eph 6:16  above all, having taken up the shield of belief with which you shall have power to quench all the burning arrows of the wicked one.

Col 1:11  being empowered with all power, according to the might of His esteem, for all endurance and patience with joy,

2Ti 1:7  For Elohim has not given us a spirit of cowardice, but of power and of

love and of self-control.

Rev 3:8  “I know your works – see, I have set before you an open door, and no one is able to shut it – that you have little power, yet have guarded My Word, and have not denied My Name.

Ezr 8:22  for I was ashamed to ask of the sovereign a group of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the way, because we had spoken to the sovereign, saying, “The hand of our Elohim is upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him.”

Job 1:7  And יהוה said to Satan, “From where do you come?” And Satan answered יהוה and said, “From diligently searching in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.”

Job 21:7  Why do the wrong live, become old, and become mighty in power¹? Footnote: ¹Ps. 73: 3 & 17, Jer. 12:1-2 – the answer to this question is given in Ps. 73: 17.

Psa 73:3      For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

Psa 73:17      Until I went into the sanctuary of El; then understood I their end.

Psa 68:35  O Elohim, awesome from Your set-apart places, The Ěl of Yisra’ĕl is He Who gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be Elohim!

Psa 147:5  Great is our Master and mighty in power, There is no limit to His understanding.

Pro 18:21  Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those loving it eat its fruit.

Pro 24:5  Mighty is the wise in strength, And a man of knowledge strengthens power;

Hos 4:6       My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast  rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to  me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy Elohim, I will also forget thy  children.

Isa 40:29  He gives power to the faint, and to those who have no might He increases strength.

Jer 32:17  ‘Ah, Master יהוה! See, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is no matter too hard for You,

AUTHORITY

Mat 8:9  “For I too am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

Mat 8:10  And when יהושע heard, He marvelled, and said to those who followed, “Truly, I say to you, not even in Yisra’ĕl have I found such great belief!

Mat 8:11  “And I say to you that many shall come from east and west, and sit down with Aḇraham, and Yitsḥaq, and Yaʽaqoḇ in the reign of the heavens,

Mat 8:12  but the sons of the reign shall be cast out into outer darkness – there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Mat 8:13  And יהושע said to the captain, “Go, and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that hour.

Mat 9:6  “But in order for you to know that the Son of Adam possesses authority on earth to forgive sins...” He then said to the paralytic, “Rise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”

Mat 9:7  And he rose and went to his house.

Mat 9:8  And when the crowds saw it, they marvelled and praised Elohim who had given such authority to men.

Mat 10:1  And having called His twelve taught ones near, He gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every bodily weakness.

Mat 16:19  “And I shall give you the keys of the reign of the heavens, and whatever you bind¹ on earth shall be having been bound¹ in the heavens, and whatever you loosen¹ on earth shall be having been loosened¹ in the heavens.” Footnote: ¹Binding and loosening is Heḇrew idiom for exercising authority (to prohibit and permit).

Mar 3:15  and to possess authority to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons.

Luk 4:6  And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I shall give You, and their esteem, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.¹

Rom 13:1  Let every being be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from Elohim, and the authorities that exist are appointed by Elohim.

Rom 13:2  So he who opposes the authority withstands the institution of Elohim, and those who withstand shall bring judgment on themselves.

2Pe 2:10  and most of all those walking after the flesh in filthy lust and despising authority – bold, headstrong, speaking evil of esteemed ones,

Jud 1:8  In the same way, indeed, these dreamers defile the flesh, and reject authority, and speak evil of esteemed ones.

Rev 2:26  “And he who overcomes, and guards My works until the end, to him I shall give authority over the nations,

Rev 22:14  “Blessed are those¹ doing His commands,² so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life, and to enter through the gates into the city.

Mat 16:17  יהושע answering, said to him, “Blessed are you, Shimʽon Bar-Yonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father in the heavens.

Mat 16:18      And I say also unto thee, That thou art Kepha, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Mat 16:19      And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
