So, You, want to be a Hebrew ?

In today’s climate of needing to “be” somebody, so many of us just want to
identify with somebody, or something. We call ourselves Messianic,
Nazarenes, Israelites, and many other names, but who are we? Or better
yet, what are we? In a situation like this, and with questions like this we
must go to the scriptures. We must see what it says.

Ecc 1:8  All matters are wearisome, no one is able to speak of it. The eye is
not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
Ecc 1:9  What has been is what shall be, what has been done is what shall be
done, and there is no new matter under the sun.

We can use all the excuses we want, but this scripture puts it into perspective.

Joh 3:16  “For Elohim so loved the world that He gave His only
brought-forth Son, so that everyone who believes in Him should
not perish but possess everlasting life.

We all know this scripture. We have quoted it hundreds of times, and
Heard it just as many. But what does it mean to us? First of all it lays
out a principal, that principal is this. Elohim so loved the world…..Abba
YAHWEH so loves the world….His creation…..What He created….. What
He put into existence with Adam and Eve. The world and everything that
is in it. He so loved it! But it goes on…..that He gave His only begotten, or
brought-forth Son……He, YAHWEH gave up, let go of, or released  for us
His Son the Messiah…….Yahushuah Homischach. And made the
assertion that whoever believed in Him would not perish but possess
everlasting life! Everlasting life ….. hmmmm …… just what was YAHWEH
talking about? And what did He mean? Once again we must go to the
scriptures…

.Rom 10:9  That if you confess with your mouth the Master יהושע
and believe in your heart that Elohim has raised Him from the
dead, you shall be saved.

Rom 10:10  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness,
and one confesses with the mouth, and so is saved.

Rom 10:11  Because the Scripture says, “Whoever puts his trust
in Him shall not be put to shame.”

Rom 10:12  Because there is no distinction between Yehuḏite and
Greek, for the same Master of all is rich to all those calling upon
Him.
Rom 10:13  For “everyone who calls on the Name of יהוה shall be
saved.”
How comforting… but it is conditional. Just like everything we
do….conditional. Yes, from the dawn of creation, everything is conditional.
Didn’t Elohim speak to Adam and tell him he could eat of everything in
    the garden but 1 tree?

Gen 2:16  And יהוה Elohim commanded the man, saying, “Eat of
     every tree of the garden,

Gen 2:17  but do not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for in the day that you eat of it you shall certainly die.

And what did He do?.....ate of the tree. Something that we all say we would never do, but we all know we would have, given the same circumstance. Now let’s go back to the original question……..”so you want to be a Hebrew” WE see that in order to be something, we have to become it. We need to take on the very characteristic of what we want to become. We have to be transformed.

Rom 12:1  I call upon you, therefore, brothers, through the
compassion of Elohim, to present your bodies a living offering – set
apart, well-pleasing to Elohim – your reasonable worship.

Rom 12:2  And do not be conformed to this world, but be
transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you prove what is
that good and well-pleasing and perfect desire of Elohim.

We see that this is beginning to take on a new perspective. We need to look at these verses and see just what they mean……. First of all before we dissect these verses, there are a couple of things we need to get established. We need to understand that there is “NO” new testament. You could call it a renewed testament, or New Writings. Only because they are newer transcripts of the original writings. The Christian church, of which many of us have come out of,……has tried to shove this concept down our throat……. It is totally false. Let me take you to the words of our Messiah.

Joh 5:46  For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for
He wrote of me.
Joh 5:47  But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my
words?

Whoa……hold the boat…….out of the mouth of Messiah Yahushua He said if we don’t believe Moses writings, there is no way we will believe His words? What is this guy saying. You mean the Old Testament has validity???? You see, that is why this is a complete book…..Genesis to Revelations. Full and complete lacking in nothing….. OK, now that we have that settled, let’s go back to Romans… we all know that this is Sha’ul talking. He says to present our bodies a living sacrifice, Kodesh acceptable unto YAHWEH. Present our bodies…..hummmm…..what is HE Talking about. Sounds like we need to change something….what do you think it
     Means? Well here are several.

Lev 19:26  ‘Do not eat meat with the blood. Do not practice divination omagic.
Lev 19:27  ‘Do not round the corner of your head, nor destroy the corner of your beard.
Lev 19:28  ‘And do not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor put tattoo marks on you. I am יהוה.
Lev 19:29  ‘Do not profane your daughter by making her a whore, so that the land does not whore, and the land becomes filled with wickedness.

There are more in Lev. But let’s look at these….” Do not eat meat with blood” well there go the rare, or medium rear steaks…..LOL…. What YAHWEH means here  is that our food needs to be cooked in its entirety….all the way through. Why? Well the first is that the blood of anything is sacred. It is life to where ever it came from. Also that it is unhealthy to eat uncooked meats.

“Do not practice divination or magic….we can understand this , or can us….have you ever said “good Luck” to somebody, or ever wished for something…..that my friend is divination. Pure and simple.

Verse 27 has to do with demon or idol worship. There are many practices
that went on years ago that we don’t know of, but that doesn’t give us any right to plead ignorance…..it is our duty to know, and ask questions. The next is cuttings of the flesh and tattoo’s. This is the easiest…..most all are demon inspired, but the biggest is that they don’t come off. You get one, you have one…. Now another reason is the ending 3 words…… I AM YAHWEH!!!!. Need I say more? Abba is trying to say…..”NO”….

Now verse 29 you would think, is very obvious. Or is it? Let me ask you this…..How do you let them dress? Do you let them reveal any body parts? When you let them go out, if the clothing they wear draws a man’s eyes,
and entices them, you have just made your daughter a whore…… I know that is a tough statement, but it is true. If they live in your house, and under your covering, you are held accountable. Same with your wife!!! Now add this together with everybody else, and suddenly the land is defiled…..the family is gone, and the land becomes corrupt. Something to think about….

So we need to see, that it is imperative that we become set apart…well pleasing to Elohim. Now the next verse in Romans is also important. It tells us how to change….

Rom 12:2  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you prove what is that good and well-pleasing and perfect desire of Elohim.

This is pretty clear….we cannot conform to this world, we cannot take part in its ways…what we are talking about is just that, becoming like them…..the way they look….the way they talk….. the way they act….. we are called to be “set apart” we need to be different!!!!! That way we can :

To make you understand this even a little better let me draw analogy. When we are asked for a writing instrument, how many things go thru our mind…pen or pencil…..fine, medium, or ultra fine…..mechanical or regular……bic, or sharpie….#2 or HB…..it is endless….. a Hebrew mindset will think something to put words on paper….that’s all. Why???? That is because we have been “Hellenized”…. The Greeks brought this in……a choice for everything….if it feels good do it……that is the mind set we are talking about….

So, do you still want to become a “Hebrew” Well, there is more.

Remember John 5:46, well …..

Joh 5:46  For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for
He wrote of me.

What was it that Moshe said??  Moshe wrote the first 5 Books of the
Tanach……. Better known as the Torah. In it is the complete DIWY
manual,( do it with YAHWEH). Now in these writings is the very essence of life…… how to live, how to conduct your business, family, all you need to know to exist on this earth. In every Book written after that, you will see reference to the Torah. Especially in the Brit…..or new writings. Even in the Book of Malice we find this:

Mal 4:1  “For look, the day shall come, burning like a furnace, and all the
proud, and every wrongdoer shall be stubble. And the day that shall come shall
burn them up,” said יהוה of hosts, “which leaves to them neither root nor
branch.
Mal 4:2  “But to you who fear My Name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings. And you shall go out and leap for joy like calves from the stall.
Mal 4:3  “And you shall trample the wrongdoers, for they shall be ashes under
the soles of your feet on the day that I do this,” said יהוה of hosts.
Mal 4:4  “Remember the Torah of Mosheh, My servant, which I commanded
him in Ḥorĕḇ for all Yisra’ĕl – laws and right-rulings.
Mal 4:5  “See, I am sending you Ěliyah the prophet before the coming of the
great and awesome day of יהוה.
Mal 4:6  “And he shall turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the
hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with
utter destruction

What does this sound like to you? Verse 4 refers directly to the Torah of
Mosheh. Now you can see why YAHUSHUA said the same thing…….. “Laws and
Right rulings.” Here is a scripture out of Isaiah:

Isa 2:3  And many people’s shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of יהוה, to the House of the Elohim of Yaʽaqoḇ, and let Him teach us His ways, and let us walk in His paths, for out of Tsiyon comes forth the Torah, and the Word of יהוה from Yerushalayim.”

Another reference to Messiah……

Isa 42:1  “See, My Servant whom I uphold, My Chosen One My being has
delighted in! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He brings forth right-ruling to
the nations.
Isa 42:2  “He does not cry out, nor lifts up His voice, nor causes His voice to
be heard in the street.

Isa 42:3  “A crushed reed He does not break, and smoking flax He does not
quench. He brings forth right-ruling in accordance with truth.
Isa 42:4  “He does not become weak or crushed, until He has established
right-ruling in the earth. And the coastlands wait for His Torah.”

Just what do you think all of this means? I am going to the Torah now and see
just how it is we are supposed to live.

Deu 4:1  “And now, O Yisra’ĕl, listen to the laws and the right-rulings which I
am teaching you to do, so that you live, and shall go in and possess the land
which יהוה Elohim of your fathers is giving you.
Deu 4:2  “Do not add to the Word which I command you, and do not take away
from it1, so as to guard the commands of יהוה your Elohim which I am
commanding you. Footnote: 1See also 12:32, Prov. 30:6, Rev. 22:18-19.
Deu 4:3  “Your eyes have seen what יהוה did at Baʽal Peʽor, for יהוה your Elohim
has destroyed from your midst all the men who followed Baʽal Peʽor.
Deu 4:4  “But you who are clinging to יהוה your Elohim are alive today, every
one of you.
Deu 4:5  “See, I have taught you laws and right-rulings, as יהוה my Elohim
commanded me, to do thus in the land which you go to possess.
Deu 4:6  “And you shall guard and do them, for this is your wisdom and your
understanding before the eyes of the peoples who hear all these laws, and
they shall say, ‘Only a wise and understanding people is this great nation!’
Deu 4:7  “For what great nation is there which has Elohim so near to it, as יהוה
our Elohim is to us, whenever we call on Him?
Deu 4:8  “And what great nation is there that has such laws and righteous
right-rulings like all this Torah which I set before you this day?
Deu 4:9  “Only, guard yourself, and guard your life diligently, lest you forget
the Words your eyes have seen, and lest they turn aside from your heart all
the days of your life. And you shall make them known to your children and
your grandchildren.

Not only have we seen hoe to live, but…….. we can’t add or change it in any
way!!!

Deu 12:32  “All the words I am commanding you, guard to do it – do not add to
it nor take away from it.

Pro 30:6  Do not add to His Words, Lest He reprove you, and you be found a
liar.

Rev 22:18  For I witness to everyone hearing the words of the prophecy of
this book: If anyone adds to them, Elohim shall add to him the plagues that
are written in this book,
Rev 22:19  and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this
prophecy, Elohim shall take away his part from the Book of Life, and out of
the set-apart city, which are written in this Book.

I think that we have established that there is a certain way that we need to
live, and can’t add or subtract………HOWEVER,  let’s look at a few other
scriptures.

Exo 19:5  ‘And now, if you diligently obey My voice, and shall guard My
covenant, then you shall be My treasured possession above all the peoples –
for all the earth is Mine –

Deu 7:6  “For you are a set-apart people to      your Elohim.      your Elohim
has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a treasured possession above all
the peoples on the face of the earth.

Deu 14:2  for you are a set-apart people to      your Elohim, and      has chosen
you to be a people for Himself, a treasured possession above all the peoples
who are on the face of the earth.

Deu 26:19  so as to set you high above all nations which He has made, for a
praise, and for a name, and for esteem, and for you to be a set-apart people to
your Elohim, as He has spoken.”

Deu 28:9       does establish you as a set-apart people to Himself, as He has
sworn to you, if you guard the commands of      your Elohim and walk in His
ways.

Isa 62:12  And they shall be called, “The Set-apart People, the Redeemed of
.” And you shall be called, “Sought Out, a City Not Forsaken.”

Eze 44:23  “And they are to teach My people the difference between the
set-apart and the profane, and make them know what is unclean and clean.

Dan 7:27  ‘And the reign, and the rulership, and the greatness of the reigns
under all the heavens, shall be given to the people, the set-apart ones of the
Most High. His reign is an everlasting reign, and all rulerships shall serve and
obey Him.’
1Pe 2:9  But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a set-apart nation, a
people for a possession, that you should proclaim the praises of Him who
called you out of darkness into His marvellous light,

2Pe 3:10  But the day of YAHWEH shall come as a thief in the night, in which
the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt
with intense heat, and the earth and the works that are in it shall be burned
up.
2Pe 3:11  Seeing all these are to be destroyed in this way, what kind of
people ought you to be in set-apart behaviour and reverence,
2Pe 3:12  looking for and hastening the coming of the day of Elohim, through
which the heavens shall be destroyed, being set on fire, and the elements melt
with intense heat!
2Pe 3:13  But according to His promise we wait for a renewed heavens and a
renewed earth in which righteousness dwells.
2Pe 3:14  So then, beloved ones, looking forward to this, do your utmost to be
found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless,
2Pe 3:15  and reckon the patience of our Master as deliverance, as also our
beloved brother Sha’ul wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him,
2Pe 3:16  as also in all his letters, speaking in them concerning these matters,
in which some are hard to understand,1 which those who are untaught and
unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do also the other Scriptures.
2Pe 3:17  You, then, beloved ones, being forewarned, watch, lest you also fall
from your own steadfastness, being led away with the delusion of the lawless,
2Pe 3:18  but grow in the favour and knowledge of our Master and Saviour
Messiah. To Him be the esteem both now and to a day that abides. Amen.

Heb 12:14  Pursue peace with all, and pursue apartness without which no one
shall see the Master.
Heb 12:15  See to it that no one falls short of the favour of Elohim, that no
root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, by which many become defiled,

Where would you like me to go from here……… there are hundreds of scriptures
that show us how to live….what to think…..how to act under a circumstance.
Yet we so cling to the ways of the world….why? Why are we so afraid to be
different…….or rather set-apart. Why do we choose the ways of the world
over the ways of Abba YAHWEH? I guess I need to let that be up to you…….I
leave you with a verse out of Yahoshua

Jos 24:14  “And now, fear יהוה, serve Him in perfection and in
truth, and put away the mighty ones which your fathers served
beyond the River and in Mitsrayim, and serve יהוה!
Jos 24:15  “And if it seems evil in your eyes to serve יהוה, choose
for yourselves this day whom you are going to serve, whether the
mighty ones which your fathers served that were beyond the
River, or the mighty ones of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell.
But I and my house, we serve יהוה.”

Jos 24:19  Then Yehoshua said to the people, “You are not able to
serve יהוה, for He is a set-apart Elohim, a jealous Ěl is He. He does
not bear with your transgression and with your sins,
Jos 24:20  if you forsake יהוה and shall serve mighty ones of a
stranger. Then He shall turn back and do you evil and consume you,
after He has been good to you.”
Jos 24:21  And the people said to Yehoshua, “No, but we do serve יהוה!”
Jos 24:22  Then Yehoshua said to the people, “You are witnesses
against yourselves that you have chosen יהוה for yourselves, to
serve Him.” And they said, “Witnesses!”
Jos 24:23  “And now, put away the mighty ones of the stranger
which are in your midst, and incline your heart to יהוה Elohim of
Yisra’ĕl.”
Jos 24:24  And the people said to Yehoshua, “יהוה our Elohim we
serve, and His voice we obey.”
Jos 24:25  And Yehoshua made a covenant with the people that
day, and laid on them a law and a right-ruling in Sheḵem.
Jos 24:26  Then Yehoshua wrote these words in the Book of the
Torah of Elohim. And he took a large stone, and set it up there
under the oak that was by the set-apart place of יהוה.
Jos 24:27  And Yehoshua said to all the people, “See, this stone is
a witness to us, for it has heard all the words of יהוה which He
spoke to us. And it shall be a witness against you, lest you lie
against your Elohim.”
Jos 24:28  Then Yehoshua sent the people away, each to his own
inheritance.
